We reserve the right to use the following professional pet shipping services, exclusive from a commercial airline agency (Please visit the below links directly or contact us to obtain an estimate): Some of the Shipping considerations that we will take into account prior to shipping your puppy are the following: Your puppy must be at least eight weeks old and must have been weaned for at least five days. Cages and other shipping containers must meet the minimum standard for size, ventilation, strength, sanitation and design for safe handling. (Sky kennels furnished by the airlines meet these requirements.) - Your puppy must not be brought to the airline for shipping more than four hours before departure. (Six hours is permitted if shipping arrangements are made in advance.) - If your puppy is less than 16 weeks of age are in transit more than 12 hours, food and water must be provided. Older dogs must have food at least every 24 hours and water at least every 12 hours. We will provide the airlines with written instructions for food and water must accompany all animals shipped regardless of the scheduled time in transit. - Your puppy may not be exposed to temperatures less than 45F unless they are accompanied by a certificate signed by a veterinarian stating that they are acclimated to lower temperatures. - It is against our policy to ship your puppy by C.O.D. (Cash On Delivery) No exceptions. Because each airline establishes its own policy, we will check with the air carrier for any updated travel requirements you intend to use. The following are some provisions we will likely encounter during the process of shipping the puppy: - Airlines generally require health certificates from all shippers. We will have a licensed veterinarian examine the puppy within ten days prior to shipment and issue a certificate stating that your puppy is in good health. - Your puppy will likely be shipped as cargo if unaccompanied, and many airline cargo departments employ specialists in the movement of animals. - Animals must always be shipped in pressurized holds. Some airlines allow the kennel to be carried in the passenger cabin as carry-on luggage if it fits under the seat. This, likely will not be the case unless you are flying here to pick up your puppy. Although, it will be your responsibility to make prior arrangements and/or contact the airline to see if they will allow your puppy to travel with you in the passenger area. In addition to compliance with federal regulations and airline company policy, there are a number of precautions that we will take to ensure the welfare of a shipped puppy. - Before traveling, we will accustom your puppy to the kennel in which it will be shipped and will make sure that the door latches securely. - We will not give your puppy solid food in the six hours prior to the flight, although we will give a moderate amount of water and a walk prior to the flight. If you purchase the puppy, it is recommended that you also walk the puppy a little after the flight - We will not administer sedation to your pet without the approval of a veterinarian and without first consulting you for approval, and if recommended by a veterinarian and approved by yourself, we will provide a test dose to your puppy before the trip to gauge how the pet will react. - We will reserve a space for your puppy in advance, and inquire about time and location for drop-off and pick-up. - We will write your name, address and phone number on the kennel cage, and make sure your puppy is wearing a tag with the same information. We will also provide a temporary tag showing your destination address and phone number.
